ELI FRANKHAM said he is ready for anyone after demolishing Welsh champion Sandro Ford 13-0 to book a place in next week's national CYP finals.

The Wisbech boxer takes Donard McNally, from Clonard, Ireland, on Thursday.

They will fight for the B under-91kg title at The Troxy, Docklands, London.

Ford went into Sunday's semi-final, at Haslemere, Surrey with a fight record of eight wins from eight, with six of his fights being stopped.

But Frankham picked him apart with a classy display.

He said: "He was bigger and more muscular than me and he tired to bully me.

"From the first bell he wanted to trade blows. I had to work hard and use my brain to keep him away from me and pick him off.

"I've been doing a lot of work on my fitness and that really helped.

"I'm sure my opponent in the final will be a decent fighter - they all are at this stage, but the way I feel at the moment I'm ready for anyone."

Frankham, 17, from Walpole St Andrew, runs four miles every morning and spends at least an hour and a half in the for five or six days a week.

He said: "I'm also doing sprint tests. It's a lot of hard work, but it has to be done."

Frankham's Wisbech coach Buddy Lee said: "Eli's got a brilliant boxing brain. He's at the stage now where he can adjust his style to fight any opponent.

"Eli's not small but he fought a real bruiser in his semi-final and he knew exactly what he had to do.
