A BOWLS club from Wisbech raised �400 for the Macmillan and Hudson Palliative Care Centre at the North Cambs Hospital during their 10th annual three-wood open pairs tournament.
CMB Bowls Club held their Les Howard Memorial Tournament, ran in memory of the club’s former chairman and greenkeeper, which 20 pairs entered.
Christine and Ralph Jackson beat Trudy and Paul Bennett in a close final to retain their championship.
The event was kindly sponsored by Terry and Tina Hawkins of Fenland Fire Appliance Company who presented the trophies with Lew Howard’s widow, Edna, to the winners and runners-up.
The club thanked John Fox who organised the event, the ladies who provided the lunches, teas and coffees and the raffle ticket sellers.
