TYDD Angling Club are currently running three matches a week.

A week last Tuesday John Bishop won the evening match with 4-15 of small roach and skimmer bream.

Then a week last Thursday I won the evening match with 8-5, which included a bream of 4lb and three skimmer bream. Andy Greenwood was second in this match with 6-12 but he went one better last Sunday and took top spot with 10-13 of roach, which were caught on hemp.

All of these matches were fished on the North Level Drain at the Main Road Bridge and that is where this Sunday's match will be held. Draw time is noon.

Next Tuesday and Thursday, evening matches will be held at Masin Road and draw time will be 5.30pm.

Members of Manea Angling Club found the going hard on the Old Bedford River at Welches Dam. Billy Savage only needed 2-2 of small roach and rudd for top spot. Hopefully this Sunday will be better for them as they will travel to Ely to fish the River Great Ouse. Draw time is 7.30am and fishing is from 8am-2pm.

As I predicted last week the King of the Fens Team Match, which was held on Nene around Benwick, fished well. Steve Welford won with 37-4. Steve was drawn at the right of the bridge on Burtons Bank. He fished worm to land bream and eels.

Top team on the day was Browning Hot Rods with nine points and after two matches Fox Stanjays are leading the overall points' league.

The River Yare at the Beauchamp Arms is fishing well and last Saturday Nigel Knight needed 40lb to take top spot. He fished a crumb feeder all day to catch skimmer bream.

The following day Kevin Bland had 21-7 to win a match on the same stretch.

Bream are feeding well on the Sixteen Foot Drain on Cottons Corner and tench and the odd bream are being caught on the Twenty Foot Drain. The best area seems to be the Shepperson Bridge and the Old Bathing Sheds, but if you're looking for a good day out, the Main Drain at Crooked Chimney or Magdalen Main Road Bridge are worth a visit for both reach and bream.

On the lakes, Wimblington Angling Club fished a wet and windy match on the pool at Fields End. Jonny Bird came first with 37-4 and Micky Smalley pushed him all the way, finishing second with 108lb.

This Sunday Mill View are at High Flyer Lake.

At Decoy Lakes Nigel Baxter won the Saturday open on Oak Lake with 98-00 and on Sunday John O'Halloran took top spot on Elm Lake with 58lb, while Tony Dawson won on the Four Islands with 81lb.

At High Flyer Lake, Ben Townsend took top spot on Saturday with 167lb and Andy Wright won Sunday's open with 138lb.

At Fields End last Saturday Andy Lawrence won the Saturday open on the pool with 68lb of carp to 3lb.
