A FORMER Wisbech footballer who has been banned from all football grounds in the country for three years after racially abusing an opponent has got around the suspension by switching to rugby.
Tom Gosling, 22, was banned from attending games for three years by South East Suffolk magistrates in July after he admitted hurling verbal abuse at a black Felixstowe and Walton United player during a Ridgeons Premier game on November 24 last year.
But he played for Spalding Rugby Club in a 17-10 win over Market Rasen Seconds on Saturday.
