Members of Fenland Running Club tackled one of their toughest challenges to date last week – a whopping 24 hour challenge.

Sixteen local runners travelled to Thetford Forest for the Monster Racing Ambit 24 hour challenge – a race which saw runners take on an 11km course as many times as possible during the allotted time limit.

FRC’s ‘Quad’ team of captain Mike Chapman, Andre Pittock, Tim Chapman and Martin Jennings managed an impressive six laps apiece – 24 in total – in 22 hours, 11 minutes and 17 seconds to earn them a spot on the podium in second.

Roger Kay, the club’s press secretary, said: “An exhausting but exhilarating time for all participants who have all vowed to be back again next year.”
