PARKFILED Archers held a 24-hour shoot to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

It was at Skylark Garden Centre, Wimblington from 6pm last Friday.

Five archers continued to shoot for the entire 24 hours, while most club members shot for at least 18.

Club spokesman Sheena Bush said: "I believe we've raised about £1,000, which is fantastic.

"We had lots of support to help us get through it. Local businessman Mark Petrou turned up with enough chips, chicken and pies to feed an army and Tesco gave us free bacon and drinks so I'd like to thank them both.

"With the help of coffee and Red Bull we managed to get through and, despite all of us being wet through, with bad knees and sore feet, people were talking about making it even bigger and better next year."

Parkfield Archers are holding 'have a go' sessions for the public at the Wimblington Gala, on Sunday.
