THERE will be an outbreak of van-dalism at King' Lynn's Norfolk Arena this Bank Holiday Monday.

Several Fenland drivers will take part in banger racing at the Vandemonium.

The annual Big Van Meeting, rated by many as the highlight of the year, starts at 1pm.

As well as some of the more rapid Transit type vans, expect to see several vans from yesteryear made of aluminium and wood which will literally collapse around the drivers ears.

Simon Reed, from Wisbech, has been one of the major stars of this event over the last few years and he is promising another rated performance in a veteran Morris LD.

Another Wisbech driver, Stuart Warby, is also pulling out all of the stops with a rated Ford A Series Fire Incident Unit which is certain to be in the thick of the action.

Other local drivers in action in the big vans include Keith Saunders and Nicky Young, both from Elm, who will be racing an Iveco Turbo Daily Minibus and LDV Van respectively and Helen Liquorice who will be taking on the boys with their big toys at their own game.

Also in action on Monday are the small vans and the Lady Bangers.

Saunders will once again be particularly busy as he races both the big vans and the small vans and 1300 Stock Car Racer Lee Farrell will also be in action in the small vans.

Farrell is being sponsored in his racing efforts for charity and is looking at raising a sum well into four figures for the McMillan Cancer Charity.

Trudy Gowler, from Wisbech, will be amongst the entrants in the lady bangers.

Racing also takes place at King's Lynn on Saturday at 6.30pm, with action coming from the F1 Stock Cars and the 2L Stock Cars.
