FENLAND Gun Club's first shoot of 2008 proved too close too call when three shooters, vying for the Paul Pykett Trophy, finished on the same score.

Jack Wenman, from Doddington, Mark Bridgement, from March, and Graham Harrison, from Fordham, all scored 49 ex 50.

A three-way shoot off will be held at the next event to determine a winner.

The 25 Target Skeet competition was just as close with Dave Beaumont, of Guyhirn, and Jim Rutterford, of Wilburton, both shooting the perfect 25 ex 25.

Mark Bridgement took the honours in the 25 Target Down the Line competition, scoring 24/72 ex 25/75.

Fenland Gun Club, which is based at Washbrooke Farm, Doddington, will hold their next shoot on January 20.

It starts at 10.30am and shooters of all abilities are welcome.
