It’s all change for the Fenland Trophy Invitation Cricket League.
After 11 years, Bob Burgess has decided to step down as league chairman, handing the reins to Pat Ringham of March Town Cricket Club. The announcement was made at the league’s annual general meeting on December 3.
The meeting also saw the presentation of the league trophies to last season’s winners – Khalsa and March Town’s second Sunday XI as well as individual awards to Kirpal Singh, who won batsman of the year for scoring 481 runs and Sam Mason of March, who won bowler of the year for his 28-wicket haul.
Finley Murdoch of Wisbech was also crowned young player of the year.
It was also announced that Wisbech’s second side will move into the Rutland League as of next season and will be replaced by Ramsey’s second side.
