Histon Reserves 1 Wisbech Town 0
WISBECH player manager Gary Setchell said his side produced one of their best performances of the season and were desperately unlucky to come away with nothing.
A dejected Setchell said after Wednesday night's defeat: "It was one of those nights when nothing went right for us.
"Histon had a few first teamers in their side. Their No. 10, who scored the goal, had played 45 minutes against Stevenage the previous night."
Histon took the lead in the 24th minute when a striker curled the ball home from 15 yards after being afforded too much space in the box.
Wisbech striker Darren Jimson had two decent efforts blocked in the first half and the Fenmen had a penalty appeal waved away, two minutes into stoppage time, when a Histon defender appeared to handle the ball has Sam Cubberley attempted to go round him.
Midfielder Stuart Ablett was Wisbech's star man on the night.
n Bottom club Haverhill Rovers held Wisbech to a 0-0 draw at The Nest on Saturday.
The Fenmen had the better of the play but Haverhill were dangerous on the break and fine performances from centre-back Anthony Reeve and goalkeeper Alex Street were needed to earn Wisbech a point.
