Wisbech Town’s 4-2 victory over Olney Town was marred by a horrific injury to midfielder general Steven Reid.
Reid was stretchered off in the 15th minute of the Fenmen’s UCL Knock Out Cup success, with the club later confirming he had suffered a double break in his left leg.
The midfielder has scored two goals this season, including a stunning strike in the Fenmen’s 2-2 draw with Deeping Rangers in November, and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery today (January 18).
Wisbech progressed into the semi-finals of the cup thanks to a brace apiece from Billy Smith and Adam Millson.
