Football is a sport loved by people of all ages, and that was certainly proved by a group of keen footballers who put their age behind them to take part in Wisbech’s first ever Walking Football tournament.
Three teams of six players went head-to-head at the Hudson Sports Centre, with all players being aged 50 and over.
The tournament was a great success, and the winner’s trophy was presented by former Wisbech Town player-mananger Roy McManus, who believes Walking Football has a big future.
He said: “Keeping fit in your older age is very important. Thank you to Lauren Bremmer from Active Fenland for organising the competition.”
The success of the tournament was capped with an invite to play at a second tournament at Boston United later this year.
