Danny Bloomfield hit a hat-trick as Lynn Reserves made light work of their local rivals at The Walks in last night's Ridgeons Premier Division derby.

It was the visiting Fenmen who had the first chance of the evening as Stuart King saw his close range shot deflected for a harmless corner. However, after that it was all one way traffic as the home side took control of proceedings as the exploding Bonfire Night fireworks and smoke swirled around the stadium.

Joe Francis linked with Bloomfield who saw his effort cleared from the line by ex-Linnet Gary Setchell. Mark Camm picked out the experienced Kevin Leggett who sent a looping header over Christopher Horton's bar. Ben Chapman then worked Horton who gathered his fiercely driven angled drive at the second time of asking.

It came as little surprise when the first goal finally arrived midway through the half. Ross Kelly's pinpoint cross was met by an advancing Francis who made no mistake with his head from six yards. Ten minutes before the break Lynn doubled their lead as Dominic Dwyer found Bloomfield with a delightful short pass with the experienced frontman making no mistake from close in.

Dwyer then provided Charlie Defty with the opportunity to add his name to the scoresheet but Horton produced a fine save to deny the centre back. King forced the virtually redundant Rob Murray into a save just on half time.

Following the break it was the home side who continued to dominate at will. Kyle Nicholls sent a curling cross just wide and Dwyer headed over following a corner. Wisbech substitute Aaron McKenna hit a post with an angled effort and Anthony Reeve headed over as the visitors looked for a foothold. Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished with just under 20 minutes remaining when Thompson hauled down Dwyer in the box which allowed Bloomfield to beat Horton from the spot. Bloomfield completed his hat-trick with another clean finish following Kelly's pass to confirm the home side's superiority on the night.
