YOUNG pupils were left with stars in their eyes after being taken on a fascinating tour of the solar system, when a mobile planetarium visited the Nene Infant School at Wisbech.
The year 2 pupils climbed inside through an entrance tunnel, and were treated to a visual tour of the entire solar system, starting with the sun and visiting every planet.
The youngsters also discussed the moon missions, what makes up the gaseous planets, and moving on to a visual tour of the dwarf planet Pluto.
To end the presentation by StarLincs, pupils were shown a display of stars that are visible over a 24-hour period; highlighting constellations and planets visible from Fenland.
Year 2 teacher Sally Kirby said: “Staff and children alike were absolutely mesmerised by the presentation. I am very proud of all our pupils for their enthusiastic participation.”
