A WOMAN had to jump out of a window to escape from an assault by her husband, magistrates heard.
Vida Arniulis, 22, of Bramley Road, Wisbech, denied assaulting his wife Kristina, but was convicted after a trial by Fenland magistrates on Wednesday.
He had punched her in the face, and had then continued to drink with friends while she was held in a bedroom by another man. When she complained, Arniulis kicked her on the leg. She jumped out of the window to escape.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order on Arniulis, and ordered him to carry out 200 hours of community work and pay £200 costs.
The couple have split up and his wife has returned to Lithuania.
