POLICE in Wisbech are urging the public to be vigilant after several ride on lawn mowers have been stolen in the area.
In the past four week period five lawn mowers have been stolen from properties in March Road, Upwell Road, Victory Road and High Road, Guyhirn.
Crime reduction manager Trevor Bracken said: "We have recently seen an increase in this type of incident and I would urge residents to ensure their property is secured.
"If you own a ride on lawn mower it is also worth making it as distinctive as possible as this can deter thieves from stealing them."
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the thefts to contact the Wisbech Police team on 0845 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
