WISBECH Town Football Club are offering a £500 reward for information after the club's new ground was vandalised.

A vehicle has been skidded into figure of eight shapes across sections of the grass that is to be used as the main pitch.

This was carried out at the Lynn Road venue some time on Saturday afternoon or evening.

The club's website editor Spencer Larham said: "We believe the people that did this would have been driving a small 4x4 vehicle like an old small Land Rover.

"Whoever did this had to go to a lot of trouble to get access to the ground. It's clearly not kids because they are old enough to drive.

"It's hard to say at this stage what financial damage has been done but it is certainly a setback as to when the pitch will be ready to be played on.

"The grass was coming along nicely and was almost ready to be cut.

"Our chairman is very angry and is putting up a £500 reward for any information that leads to a conviction."

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Police on 0845 4564567.
