WISBECH: Teenager distracts burglar who broke into home through a rear door.

A WOMAN disturbed a burglar who had broken into a home in Wisbech on Saturday afternoon.

The 19 year old was upstairs in the house in Railway Road when the man broke in through a rear door at just before 3pm.

A WOMAN disturbed a burglar who had broken into a home in Wisbech on Saturday afternoon.

The 19 year old was upstairs in the house in Railway Road when the man broke in through a rear door at just before 3pm.

The intruder saw her as he climbed the stairs and fled, taking a wallet containing cash and bank cards.

The burglar was described as white, about 5'8", 30 to 40, with black stubble and black curly hair. He wore a dark fleece top with a collar.

A purple Vauxhall Astra was seen in the area at the time that officers would like to trace.

PC Sarah Sleaford, from the priority crime team at Ramsey Police Station, said: "I am appealing for anyone with information about this burglary to contact police. I would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw the man or vehicle described in the area at the time."
