Rollercoasters, dodgems and the haunted house enjoyed by the Mayor of Wisbech along with members of the town council at annual Statute Fair
The Mayor of Wisbech was joined by members of the town council as he opened up the annual Statute Fair in the town centre.
Councillor Peter Human opened the Chapel Road event on Wednesday, September 19, after walking with members of the council from Wisbech Town Hall.
The mayor met with stall holders and members of the public before enjoying a ride on the children’s train rollercoaster.
Cllr Samantha Hoy and Cllr Steve Tierney were snapped with smiles, bravely walking through the fair’s haunted house
Terry Jordan, town clerk, said: “Stall holders told me that they were surprised at just how busy it was so early on in the night. It was very busy from the beginning.
“We started the night by going on the dodgems as we always do. The mayor then went on the children’s train rollercoaster – which I said was a great photo opportunity.
“Everybody just had a good time. We just want people to know the town council does support the fair as it brings so many people into the town centre.
“We had a good mix of people, local people and people that have moved to the area from places such as Eastern Europe. It all went swimmingly.”
