SIX illegal immigrants were caught trying to smuggle themselves into the UK inside a lorry packed with baby food on its way to Wisbech.
The Afghan men were found hiding in a Hungarian-registered lorry, which was stopped in Calais by Border Agency officials earlier on July 16.
Officers believe the men cut their way in through the roof of the trailer. They were caught when officers used a carbon dioxide probe which indicated people were inside.
The men were handed over to French authorities.
In a statement, a UK Border Agency spokesman said: "We have hundreds of UK Border Agency officers based at ports in France and Belgium, carrying out checks to stop illegal immigrants before they get to the UK."
