Wisbech sewing group donate handmade quilts to child fostering agency
A sewing group from Wisbech has donated handmade patchwork quilts to a child fostering agency based in the town.
The quilts were made by two ‘sewciety’ members, Joyce and Betty, who meet at the Button Up and Stitch shop on Market Street twice a month.
They were gifted to the Wisbech branch of Inspired Foster Care (ISP), an independent fostering agency which looks after vulnerable children and young people.
Rob Thomson, registered manager for ISP Wisbech, said: “We were totally overwhelmed with the donation of Patchwork quilts from Button up and Stitch.
“We really appreciate the time and effort that has gone into making them.
“The children have already taken to them and are enjoying the extra comfort.”
A spokesman said: “ISP are part of Partnerships in Children’s Services, whose aim as a fostering provider is to ensure that those in their care lead happy, stable, active childhoods – childhoods that provide the foundations for fulfilled and productive adulthoods.
