Wisbech is to become a regional training centre for the Princes Trust in a programme pioneered by Norfolk fire service.
Plans have been put to Fenland Council to allow change of use from offices to a training centre on part of the first floor of Exchange Tower, Post Office Lane, Wisbech,
The Princes Trust team Programme (PTTP) has worked for several years in Norfolk to help young people aged between 16 and 25 not in education, training or work on a series of course designed to make them employable. Cambs fire service, the College of West Anglia and Cambridgeshire police are among those backing the new Wisbech training centre.
Up to 15 students will attend courses for 12 week periods and the PTTP hope this will help young people get the skills to get into employment.
Fenland Council will decide the application.
