Wisbech Sea Cadets got busy baking for a coffee and cake morning open to the public.
The youngsters held the event in St Peter’s church hall.
With coffee and cake for £1 shoppers got a chance to take a well earned break with tempting treats to help raise funds for the group which has been running since the 1940s.
The sea cadets enjoy boating activities and provide training in power boating, rowing, engineering, seamanship, communications and first aid.
The unit was formed in Wisbech during the early years of World War II.
Numbers escalated very quickly to around 60 and the unit moved to a room above the current kitchen of St. Peter’s Church Hall.
By 1942 they converted a warehouse in Falcon Road where it remained until 1983 when Church Mews was developed.
Since then they have developed a unit in Sandyland, near Aldi, where they meet for seniors (12 to 18) on Monday and Thursdays and just Thursdays for juniors (10-12).
