Wisbech’s Peckover House hosted an emergency services training exercise last night.
Local fire crews, police, the ambulance service and the local council attended the exercise, which was conducted over four hours from 6pm.
The exercise, according to a letter from Wisbech Fire Station to residents, was to “ensure that we [Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service] are best-placed to attempt to save the historical contents of Peckover House, should there be an emergency in the future.”
A section of North Brink was closed for the exercise, which saw five fire engines attend.
Peckover House on North Brink is an Georgian property which was the home of the Peckover family for over 150 years.
