The postmaster at Wisbech Post Office said he was “really proud” of the branch’s achievements after it was named as a top performer at this year’s Post Office Network Sales Awards.
The awards celebrate the performance of teams and individuals from over 11,500 branches, and the Wisbech branch was recognised as a top performer in the travel category.
Manager of the branch on York Row, Ray Wicks, travelled to London for the awards ceremony on Saturday June 4, which was hosted by TV presenter, Anita Rani.
Mr Wicks said: “We’re really proud of our achievements. We all work really hard to offer our customers a great service and we’re pleased the Post Office has recognised our efforts through this award.”
Kevin Gilliliand, Post Office Network and Sales Director, also hailed the Wisbech branch’s efforts. He said: “We’re understaking the biggest modernisation programme in UK retail history, and people working in branches like Wisbech are key to this transformation and to ensuring that our branches remain at the heart of communities for the future.”
