A POLICE officer head butted by drunken Andrew Woolner was awarded 50 compensation by a judge this week.
Woolner swore at PC David MacDonald, then jerked back his head and hit the officer on the forehead.
"He recalls very little of the incident, he has struggled with an alcohol problem for a number of years," solicitor Andrew Spence told District Judge Ken Sheraton at Wisbech courthouse on Tuesday. "He was in such a state that an ambulance was called. When police tried to restrain him, he struggled."
Woolner, 41, of Larksfield, Wisbech, admitted assault and failing to attend court on March 11. He was fined a total of 100 with 60 costs and a 15 surcharge.
