PRO-active police work has cleared the Wisbech streets of another drug dealer, as officers continue their fight to clean up the town.
Neil Spencer Wright was jailed for a total of 40 months - after police officers stop checked his vehicle and found heroin and cocaine inside.
Praising his officers this week, Wisbech sector commander, Inspector Robin Sissons said: "What pleases me about this incident, is that it was all about pro-active police work. Due to this work, there is one less drug supplier on the streets of Wisbech."
Thirty-six-year-old Spencer Wright, of Elizabeth Terrace, Wisbech, admitted possession of heroin with intent to supply, and possessing the class A drug.
Spencer Wright was arrested after his Mitsubishi car was stopped and searched on May 31 in Savory Road, Wisbech.
One officer grabbed Spencer Wright's wrist after seeing him make a grab for a green fabric wallet which was on the front seat of the vehicle, and he dropped it. A second officer searched the car, and a third officer searched Spencer Wright, and saw him lift his fist to his mouth, and a wrap containing 379 mgs of cocaine flew out of his hand, and landed on the floor.
A clear plas5ic "strip-seal" bag containing 27 individual packages of heroin was found in the centre console of the car, near the handbrake. The drug weighed a total of 5.18 grams, it was 54 per cent strength, and worth £284.85. Officers seized the drugs, along with £175.77 in cash.
A search of Spencer Wright's home address led to the seizing of another £200 in cash, along with a set of scales.
