A nostalgic and sensitive exploration of growing old and the narrowness of rural life in the 1930s is explored in the production by the group.

Directed by Barbara Mews, it is adapted for the stage by Shaun McKenna from a screenplay by Charles Dance. It is based on a short story by William J Locke.

Ladies in Lavender tells the story of two elderly spinster sisters, Ursula and Janet Widdington living out their quiet lives in a secluded corner of Cornwall.

All this is thrown into emotional turmoil when they discover a young man washed ashore on the beach close to death.

They take him under their wing and nurse him back to health discovering that Andrea is a Polish national and a virtuoso violinist on his way to a career in the USA.

The presence of this mysterious young man forces them to confront depths of feelings they have long since abandoned and disrupts not only their lives but also the community in which they live.
