COUNCIL officials have responded quickly and denied a bid by travellers to move into a mobile home near Wisbech.
The application to use land at Little Acre off the A47 Bypass was filed with Fenland District Council a fortnight before Christmas but last week it was rejected.
The council said its main objection was because traveller sites should not be located in areas of high flood risk "given the particular vulnerability of caravans".
The overall site is currently subject to an enforcement order and a further application is in the pipeline to build a day room for travellers' families.
