A Wisbech man has been sent for trial after denying the murder of a 35-year-old man from West Walton.
Mitchell Bird, 29, of Cox Close, made a brief appearance at Cambridge Crown Court where he denied murder.
He is now expected to stand trial on August 7 and was remanded in custody.
Bradley Carter (pictured) of Spencer Close, West Walton, was attacked at a house in Wisbech on Valentine’s Day; he died five days later at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn.
In a statement at the time by Mr Carter’s family they described him “a kind, loving and helpful son, uncle and father who will be greatly missed by all those who knew him”.
A police spokesman said: “The family would like their wishes respected to be left alone to grieve.”
