A 48-year-old Wisbech man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm yesterday afternoon.
It comes after heavily armed officers were called to arrest a man near the centre of Wisbech.
The drama happened on Norwich Road on Wednesday afternoon, near the junction with the busy A1101 Churchill Road.
Cambridgeshire police said: “We were called at 2.45 to reports of suspicious circumstances in Norwich Road, Wisbech.
“A 48-year-old man from Wisbech was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear and was taken to the Kings Lynn Police Investigation Centre where he remains.”
