A SOLDIER from Wisbech took part in the State Opening of Parliament ceremony on Wednesday morning, one of the most colourful events in the London ceremonial calendar.
Lance Corporal of Horse Timothy Puddifoot is a member of the Household Cavalry, and is a fully qualified riding instructor.
He is also a qualified military tailor, and a key member of the regiment's world renown display team, The Musical Ride.
Timothy has represented the regiment at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and recently won a silver medal at the army cross country championships. He competes in carriage driving events, and hopes to take part in the next Olympics.
There are plans for Timothy to move across to the armoured regiment based in Windsor, and he hopes to serve in Afghanistan and Iraq.
