Fen artist Annie Appleby is preparing for her latest exhibition that opens next Tuesday at Octavia View, Wisbech.
Annie has been drawing and painting since she was 11 and is self taught.
“My first exhibition was in 1975 at school but from the response I received gave me the drive to want to do more,” she said. “Painting has been a passion of mine ever since.
“One person who saw my work was the late Ted Rogers; he bought several from me and made a generous donation which was really kind.
“But probably my biggest claim to fame was having a picture on Take Hart many years ago, but alas I never managed to get a Blue Peter Badge.”
Annie has displayed work at many galleries in Stafford, Birmingham and London.
“I always donate 50 per cent of any sales to a charity. The Poppy Appeal will be my charity for the exhibition at Octavia in Wisbech from October 10 until the end of November.”
All her paintings for this exhibition will be priced from £12 to £40 “so hopefully people will like what they see and may be buy for Christmas presents and help me raise money”.
