STAFF and friends of the hairdressing salon in Kirkgate Street, Walsoken, raised a massive 1,412 when they hosted a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support
Salon owner Linda Pepper said: “We have to hold the event outside the salon as we carry on our normal business throughout.
“The weather was against us on the day but we still managed to raise a tremendous sum thanks to everyone who supported us. We are always amazed by the support in the local community for this charity and so many people tell us of how cancer has affected their own family members.”
As well as a cake stall and raffle, money was raised by clients who were asked to predict the birth weight of stylist Sally Allen’s baby who was born the week before the coffee morning.
