A NEW hall for the rapidly expanding junior school at Wisbech Grammar School was opened today (Tue) the Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University.
The Alan Salmon Hall, named after a former governor who served on the governing body for 25 years - and for 13 years as its vice-chairman - is part of a £1.2 million project, which includes the refurbishment of the senior school's sports hall.
Equipped with a full cinema surround system and screen, the hall will be used for assemblies and small-scale productions as well as being used as a play area.
The construction scheme is the school's seventh major building project in the last 20 years.
Professor Michael Thorne, the Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, was invited to open the new building following a dinner with the school's headmaster, Mr Robert Repper, at the House of Lords.
