About 45 people attended the event on Tuesday.
Mary Cook, from the company Essential Beauty, told people about the healing properties of Aloe Vera beauty products, card-making expert Ali Newman gave a demonstration and people learned how to make Christmas cards and Mark Corcoran, from the Energy Saving Trust, gave a talk about how people can save energy in the home.
Oasis Community Centre manager Chris Stevens said: "I was pleased with the turn-out and everything went really well, so I hope to organise several similar events in the future.
