A WISBECH man charged with possessing a pump action shot gun without a firearms certificate, and fraudulently obtaining more than £40,000 worth of fuel, was remanded in custody by magistrate this week.
Robert Phillips, 42, of Kingfisher House, Lord's Lane, is alleged to have been found in possession of the weapon in Wisbech on Monday, July 21.
He also faces 12 charges of obtaining fuel by deception; by making a false representation that he had authority to use a fuel card.
The 12 charges span a 12-day period, between March 27 and April 6, and are alleged to have been committed in Wisbech, Peterborough, and Whittlesey. The various amounts of fuel involved were worth between £896.06 and £8,207.47.
Phillips appeared in custody at Wisbech courthouse on Tuesday, when he was remanded into police custody for three days.
