Police this afternoon released the photograph of 18 year old Elizabeth Manning who was made the subject of an ASBO by magistrates yesterday to prevent her behaving anti-socially.

Manning, 18, of Southwell Road, Wisbech has been prohibited from:

1. Engaging in conduct which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others or incite or encourage others to do so.

2. Engaging in behaviour, which is likely to be threatening, abusive or insulting to others, or incite to encourage others to do so.

3. Drinking alcohol in a public place, or be found drunk or under the influence of prohibited substances in a public place.

4. Congregating in a group of three or more persons, including herself, in any street or public place in the open air to which the public have access within the district of Fenland.

5. Being in a specified area in Wisbech between the hours of 10pm and 6am

The order was granted yesterday (August 19) at Wisbech Magistrates' Court and is due to expire on August 18, 2010.

Sergeant Dave Bax said: "This ASBO is designed to stop the persistent anti-social and nuisance behaviour of Elizabeth Manning. We have received a large number of calls from the public about her drunken behaviour.

"She has caused police and the community no end of work and the conditions are very specific.

"This should also serve as a warning to any others who conduct themselves in such a manner - ASBOs will be sought."

The two year order was imposed after Fenland magistrates heard about her aggressive behaviour in the town as she committed a catalogue of offences.

Manning - who has previous convictions for assaulting a police officer, smashing a shop window and using threatening behaviour - accepted the order without any contest.

Applying for the anti-social behaviour order on behalf of Cambridgeshire police, Andrew Logan said the 18-year-old had acted in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, her most recent arrest being on August 11 as a result of a public order incident.

The teenager has a number of previous convictions, Fenland magistrates were told.

On May 20 she was given a two-month suspended prison sentence, after admitting that she smashed a £1,500 window at Woolworths in Wisbech on April 3, she used threatening behaviour in Walsoken on March 28, and breached an earlier conditional discharge.

In February Manning admitted assaulting a female police officer and using disorderly behaviour. During that incident, officers were called to the QD store in Wisbech, where Manning was found shouting and swearing, and punching the pillars outside the Market Place premises.

Solicitor John Clarke said Manning was planning to move out of the area, to live with a relative in Nottingham. She was concerned about the terms of her ASBO, but would accept it.
