Wisbech Business & Professional Men’s Club chairman Tony Yates welcomed 40 members and female guests to the July meeting at Mendi’s.

The chairman first mentioned that Glenn Green from the Cambs. 876 Riders who had supported the club had died.

Several members attended the funeral with hundreds of others. The chairman then led a minute’s silence for him.

As it was also a World Cup football semi-final night for England, Terry Hawkins then set up a TV presentation for members to watch the game during their meal.

The chairman had suggested that everyone enjoyed the boat trip.

The go-karting at Anglia Karting is on July 12.

The golf day on September 6 is now fully booked by 12 teams and raffle prizes received will raise money for the chairman’s fundraising.

The entertainer this year is Steve Sausage, who had attended the Royal Wedding celebration in Wisbech.

The annual grand ball, on October 6, is also close to being fully booked.

The club’s ladies night was entertained by magician and mindreader Ian McCoy.

Past chairman Martin Eggett then thanked Ian McCoy for everything he had done.

The next meeting will again be at Mendi’s on Wednesday August 8 with Henry Wagner visiting again to talk about the World War Two bomber navigator.
