CIVIC dignitaries were treated to a Champagne reception when a ceremony was held to celebrate the official opening of Wisbech's first cinema for 27 years.

Saturday's event was attended by Wisbech mayor, councillor Jonathan Farmer, representatives from Wisbech Chamber of Commerce, councillors and local residents.
The chairman of East Northamptonshire District Council, councillor Dudley Hughes and his wife, cllr Sylvia Hughes, were also amongst the invited guests, who enjoyed a showing of the film Young Victoria.
Burleigh Ibbott, who owns the cinema said: "There were about 60 people at the event and it went very well.
"Everything's been going great since we opened and I've had a lot of positive feedback."
