A SMALL army of voluntary collectors will be out and about this week throughout Fenland collecting house-to-house for Christian Aid.

"We do not have enough collectors to cover every street in Wisbech but if your road is missed out and you would like to give a donation you can do so by popping into Trinity Church coffee bar in Church Terrace, Wisbech," said a Christian Aid local official.

Christian Aid helps people of any faith and none and provides funding for both long-term development work and emergencies channelled through local partner organisations who really know the needs and how best to deal with them.

This year Christian Aid Week is focusing on work with street children through football and providing training for girls so that they can earn a living as tailors in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a kids club for HIV orphans in Nigeria and disaster survival kits for families following severe floods in Bangladesh.
