Are you older than 12 but younger than 18 and want to join the army cadets?
The Wisbech army cadet detachment is holding an open day on Saturday, September 22 to give people the chance to see what they do.
The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a national voluntary organisation sponsored by the army and provides challenging military, adventurous and community activities.
A spokesman said: “The ACF provides a wide diversity of fun and exciting opportunities and it is a gateway to recognised vocational qualifications from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to BTEC First Diplomas which can help in working and school life.
“The Army Cadet Experience follows the Army values, promote discipline and a sense of ‘right and wrong’ and social skills. Having fun is a key ingredient along with the value of friendship and community spirit.
“So, if you are up for the challenge (drill, sleeping in woods and firing weapons) and older than 12 (and in Year 8) and younger than 18 and want to see what we do, then come to the Wisbech Detachment Open Day.”
It’s being held at Sandylands, Wisbech, PE13 1NX on September 22 from 10am until 2pm.
