Wisbech cadet Jade named UK’s best

A Wisbech air cadet has been crowned as the best in the country.
Corporal Jade Barker, from the Wisbech 146 unit, was presented with the trophy for Best Cadet in the Girls’ Venture Corps Air Cadets 2016 at the Corps’ AGM recently.
Jade has been a member of the GVCAC for four years and has completed her air proficiency badge, snowsports badge and is now working towards her gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
She has been involved with training courses and activity camps and has also taken part in flying, camping, skiing, archery and shooting.
A spokesman said: “Jade’s ability and experience means she is often given the responsibility and duties of leading a group of cadets on local and national camps.

The group meets every Wednesday night from 7pm to 9pm at the Cadet Centre at the bottom of Sandyland Street.
