ANNIE Ellinor of Wisbech celebrated her 100th birthday with a party organised by Roddons Housing Association.

Annie has lived in Onyx Court sheltered scheme for 15 years and puts the secret of her long life down to "hard work".

Her daughter Joyce, aged 78, also lives at Onyx Court. Mrs Ellinor has always lived in the area. She had four children, one of whom died in infancy. Annie was widowed in 1976.

The party last Thursday at Onyx Court was attended by Annie's friends and neighbours and several members of her family. Annie has seven grandchildren, as well as step grandchildren and many great grandchildren. One of her grandsons came over from Canada to attend the party.

The party included a buffet and live music.

"Mum loves to play bingo and she listens to music. She has always worked very hard," said Joyce.
