Man is arrested in Wisbech acid attack investigation

A 27-year-old man from the Wisbech area has today (Wednesday 27) been arrested in connection with a suspected acid attack in Norfolk Road, Wisbech.

The attack happened on Sunday (June 24) and the victim, a female, is not said to have suffered serious injuries.

Armed police surrounded the home following the incident.

The man is currently in custody at the Police Investigation Centre in Kings Lynn.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at just before 8.20am to a report of a suspected acid attack in the Norwich Road area of Wisbech.

“A woman reported having a substance, suspected to be acid, thrown at her. She was not seriously injured.

“It is being treated as an isolated incident at this time.”

The King’s Lynn purpose built Police Investigation Centres (PIC), has facilities to interview, collect evidence and arrange court appearances.
