IN the first ten days of a drinking ban in Wisbech town, police have made 30 seizures of alcohol. A newsagent was also caught allegedly selling alcohol to a drunk customer and is being prosecuted.
Insp Robin Sissons said: "All of this alcohol would have been consumed by people in the street. There is a likelihood that this may have led to people being involved in crime or being a victim of crime.
"This is evidence that the neighbourhood team are doing what they state on the tin- making the streets of Wisbech a safer place.
