A MAN charged with causing the death of a Wisbech pensioner by dangerous driving failed to turn up at court this week, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Egidijus Urbonavicius, 24, of St Botolph's Crescent, Boston, is alleged to have caused the death of 85-year-old Leslie Lock in Wisbech on August 25 last year, by driving a Rover 414 dangerously in Barton Road.
He is also faces charges of driving a Rover 414 with four defective tyres, a defective rear nearside brake, and having no insurance.
Mr Lock, of Wykes Drive, Wisbech, who had been driving a Nissan car, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, after the incident at the junction of Barton Road and Mile Tree Lane, Wisbech. He died on September 4.
