STAFF and friends of VIP Hair in Walsoken helped to raise £200 when they took part in the Race for Life in Peterborough in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The group had been inspired to take part as one of their colleagues Elaine Blencowe had undergone treatment for breast cancer last year.

Linda Pepper, who owns the salon, said: "Our team dressed as Hula-Hula girls and crated a stir among the participants.

"We meet so many people in the salon who have been affected by cancer, either by undergoing treatment themselves or having a family member or friend who has undergone treatment.

"To see so many women at the event that evening was a moving experience.
