A DRUNK found covered in vomit and collapsed in a car parked in the middle of a Wisbech street gave a breath test reading more than double the legal alcohol limit.
Ambulance staff alerted police after finding Alekseys Dumpis sitting in the locked Ford Mondeo in Orange Grove, and he needed help to get out of the vehicle, Fenland magistrates were told
Dumpis, 21, of Mountbatten Drive, Leverington, had earlier been drinking vodka with a friend in a Wisbech park.
"He knew he was over the limit and decided to go back to the car and sleep it off," explained solicitor John Clarke
Dumpis admitted being in charge of a car when over the alcohol limit on July 20.
He was banned from driving for nine months and fined £150 with £60 costs and a £15 surcharge.
