A night of celebration came to Wisbech earlier this month when Viva La Voce performed in concert having completed a series of singing workshops.
Viva la Voce was set up to enable adults to develop their voice and have the opportunity to express themselves through music.
Participants learned to listen to others through improvised singing and were able to improve their voices, pitch and timing as a result.
This raised their confidence as singers, made new friends and had a lot of fun.
The celebration at the end of the course had a party atmosphere and the venue was dressed to impress, which made the singers feel like stars.
Participants of Viva La Voce showcased their learning and celebrated their achievements by taking their audience through the same process they had experienced over the last 10 weeks.
The concert included vocal exercises, original compositions, and reworkings of classics including Bohemian Rhapsody and Hit the Road Jack.
Aspiring singers, who had spent the last three months building up the confidence and developing the skills to perform, gave it their all on Saturday night.
Viva la Voce participants said of the workshops: “This is fantastic” and “I am really enjoying singing with others”

Linda Ekins, Viva La Voce leader, says, ‘I feel so proud that they have challenged themselves, learned skills, developed their voices and have had the courage and faith that they could indeed sing and sing with passion.
“The next step is to continue developing the singing, the performance and the learning in order to make beautiful music anyone would be proud to be a part of.”
